Question 3 Literature
Part 3 of exam (40%)

You will have a choice of essay titles one from the theme of choice and free will and one from the theme of sin and redemption.  Choose one essay in the exam.

1.      Make a plan before writing, spend approximately 5 mins on this: Analyse the question, generate ideas, organize your ideas and add evidence.
2.      Each paragraph should have a main point, a short quotation to support it and detailed analysis – PQE
3.      Think of a few appropriate points for an introduction.  Do not just write “I am going to write about these ideas”, just write the essay.
4.      Keep referring back to question throughout answer.
5.      Start with core text and introduce and develop a secondary text, and mention briefly a third text.
6.      Structure.  Make sure to use connectives and linkers of contrast such as similarly, compared to, furthermore, moreover etc.
7.      Plan an idea for the conclusion that matches the points you have made and sums them up and takes your line of thinking a little further if possible ( anecdote or song)
8.      Proof the essay
9.      Revise both choice and freewill and sin and redemption.
