Oral Simulation n°1 - The Kite Runner
Questions:
·
What
do you think of the Kite Runner for the theme “Sin and Redemption”? Is it a
good or a bad choice?
·
In
your answers, you talked a lot about “choices”. Do you think this book would be
relevant for last year’s theme “Choice and Freewill”?
·
There
is a lot of sadness in this book, do you think that it is a good choice for
this year?
·
What
is your opinion about the style of writing of this book?
·
In
the book, are the views given about the events realistic or are they more seen
from the American point of view?
·
Did
you notice any stigmatisations of Muslims? Were they showed as the bad? Were
the Christians showed as the good?
·
What
is the difference between the image we get of the Muslims in the book and the
one in our society?
·
Is
Hassan too good to be true? and therefore might be seen as an unrealistic
character?
·
How
would Hassan define a friendship in your opinion?
Comments:
·
Generally
good references to the text!
·
When
you’re nervous you tend to accelerate when you speak, so don’t forget to slow
down.
·
Structure
as much as possible your answers (using connectives, referring to the text,…),
particularly for the long sentences.
·
Be
confident and think positive! Otherwise you will look stressed and the examiners
will have difficulties to find questions which you can answer easily.
·
If
you have a blank, stop for some seconds and think. Do not panic!
